Dear Families,
We are thrilled to introduce you to our new Site Community Liaisons! Based on feedback from our school communities and in an effort to continue to strive to meet the needs of our families, the District is providing a community liaison for each site, using specialized state funding. The liaisons are ready to support students and families as a resource for connecting with our schools as well as community resources. Their primary role is to bridge any gap between families and school while fostering a sense of belonging and collaboration.
Your Site Community Liaison is available to support your family in various ways, including:
Language Assistance: If English is not your first language, your site Liaison can help bridge any language barriers and ensure you fully understand the information shared by the school. Our Liaisons are bilingual (English/Spanish). And, if your family speaks a language other than English or Spanish, they can help with scheduling interpretation in your language.
Community Building: Our Liaisons facilitate community-building initiatives, such as family workshops and events. They support the school’s English Learner Advisory Committee (ELAC) as well as the District English Learner Advisory Committee (DELAC). These gatherings and meetings create opportunities for you to connect with other parents and school staff, share experiences, and build a strong support network.
Resources / Advocacy: If you have questions or concerns, your Liaison will work with you and the school staff to find solutions and can assist in identifying helpful resources.
Questions / Navigating the System: For families new to our school or education system, our Liaisons can answer questions, provide guidance on enrollment, school routines, and accessing educational resources.
Our Site Community Liaisons are here to help you and your child feel welcome, supported, and connected to our school community. If you have any questions or would like to get in touch with your school's Liaison, please don't hesitate to reach out using the contact information below:
