Certificated Day-to-Day Substitutes
The Encinitas Union School District is actively looking for Substitute Teachers. This is a rewarding opportunity for parents and/or community members who hold a multiple subject teaching credential. Being a substitute teacher allows you to work the days you are available, and you select the schools you wish to work at.
Are you interested in being a substitute teacher, but do not have a teaching credential? If you hold a Bachelor’s Degree, you may qualify for an Emergency 30-Day Substitute Teaching Permit which allows you to be a day-to-day substitute teacher. Requirements for Emergency 30-Day Substitute Teaching Permit are:
Bachelor or higher degree from a regionally accredited college or university
And, Satisfy the Basic Skills Requirement which includes the following options:
o Pass the CBEST
o Pass the CSET: Multiple Subject plus writing skills exam
o Achieve a qualifying score on the SAT or ACT
o Achieve a score of 3 or higher on the College Board AP English exam and AP Calculus or AP Statistics exam
o Pass a Basic Skills Exam from another state

The Encinitas Union School District is part of the North County Coastal Substitute Consortium (NCCSC) which also serves Cardiff, Del Mar, Solana Beach and Rancho Santa Fe. $180/Day Daily Rate
$195/Day Long Term Rate (starting on day 11 of the assignment)
